Archisha: On timing
Don’t wait for the perfect time—it doesn’t exist. Ask questions, take risks, meet people. And don’t obsess over grades. Skills, curiosity and how you treat people matter more. Opportunities come when you’re willing to try—even if the answer is no.
Emma: On community
Take this first step to get involved in the student community. It could be as simple as just joining an event and that’s how you meet people. And I can guarantee that they’re gonna find some connection that’s going to last the rest of the university life.
Thomas: On bravery
Don’t be afraid. Don’t be afraid to not know exactly what you want to do. Go up and say hi to someone else. Ask questions and make mistakes. Definitely scary, but never be afraid to learn something new and put yourself out there.
Mia: On friendship
Talk to people. Reach out. People here really want to see you succeed. Step out of your comfort zone and try something new, because proving to yourself that you can do it is one of the best feelings ever.
Shreya: On getting out of your comfort zone
Join clubs and campus communities early. Take rejections with grace and expect a learning curve. Do a co-op year so you can find your professional direction before you even graduate.
Ariq: On adapting
Something I learned during my co-op is how to adapt. Ask the right questions, figure things out as you go and get comfortable with uncertainty. Co-op is a great experience that will challenge you in the best possible way.
Tanya: On finding your spark
Find one or two things that really catch your eye, because once you start, everything connects. You meet people, you learn more, and new opportunities open up that you didn’t even know existed.
