UBC Okanagan Heat 0 Kwantlen Polytechnic Eagles 1
Game Recap: UBC Okanagan dropped their last game of the season 1 – 0 today against the Eagles.
The first half of the match was equally played with few scoring chances for either side and it was 0 – 0 at the half. The second half UBC O worked the ball around well but failed to capitalize on their shot opportunities. In hopes to find the go ahead goal the heat pushed a player forward but it was Kwantlen who managed to nod in pushing the ball past keeper Sydney Nakazawa. The Heat had a very good chance in the dying minutes with a scramble in the Eagles 6 yard box but ball managed to stay out. At the final whistle the game remained 1 – 0 in favour of Kwantlen.
“I felt like we didn’t play as well as we were capable of. But it was a good game for us to work on some things and to help prepare us for provincials.” Hayley Uyeyama first year.
“Each time we step on the field I expect the team to be positive and look to win matches. I adjusted the line up a bit today in order to rest some players and try different combinations. We had some good moments but were not hungry to finish today which is something we definitely need to address before next weekend.” Claire Paterson
