On campus action is over for 2011 with the men’s and women’s basketball teams off for exams and the semester break. Volleyball still has a weekend of action left as they travel to Calgary to play a pair of games versus the Dinos.

Volleyball (Men’s and Women’s)
The volleyball teams are on the road again as they head over the Rockies to square off against the University of Calgary Dinos. For the Heat women who sit at 2-6 they will be playing their fifth Canada West doubleheader, and for the fifth consecutive time they will be facing one of the top 10 teams in the nation in the No. 9 Dinos (4-6). The first game of the doubleheader will be Friday Dec. 2 at 5 p.m. PST. They play again on Saturday at 5 p.m. PST, both matches will be played in the Jack Simpson Gymnasium on the University of Calgary campus.

The men’s volleyball team will take their 3-5 record on the road as they head to Calgary to play the No. 6 University of Calgary Dinos (5-5) for one last doubleheader before the league settles into the semester break. First game will be Friday Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. PST they play again on Saturday at 7 p.m. PST, both days the game will be played in the Jack Simpson Gymnasium on the University of Calgary campus.

Men’s Volleyball (National Rankings)
CIS Top Ten Tuesday: The UBC Okanagan Heat men’s volleyball team is still the ninth ranked team in the nation, and did not lose a spot after dropping two games to Trinity Western, the top ranked team in the nation this past weekend.

Basketball (Men’s and Women’s)
The Basketball teams played their home openers and both teams came away with a split meaning all CIS varsity teams have at least one win in their inaugural season. The men’s team will attend a tournament over the break hosted by the University of Winnipeg - December 28-30. The women will take the a complete break and will prepare for their next set of games when they host the Universities of Manitoba and Winnipeg Friday Jan. 6 and Saturday Jan. 7 respectively.
