In the final game of the season for the UBC Okanagan Heat and a warm-up game for the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack before they move on to the postseason, the Heat fell to the 'Pack 69-59 Sunday afternoon in Kelowna.
For the home team Heat fourth year post Roslyn Huber was high scorer with 21 points. Huber also hauled in five rebounds. First year guard Emily Kanester dropped 18 points in the absence of UBC Okanagan's starting guards Madison Kaneda and Ashley Briker. Krystal Schouten and Laura Campbell also grabbed five boards to tie for the team lead with Huber.
The WolfPack received a stellar shooting performance from guard Jen Ju, who finished with a team high 23 points on 8-12 shooting (5/7 from three). Kaitlyn Widsten contributed with 12 points, while Taiysa Worsfeld added 10 points, hitting three from downtown. Diane Schuetze had nine rebounds to the 'Pack, and also poured in nine points.
The Heat close out their first season in Canada West with 2 wins and 16 losses. The WolfPack now move into the Canada West quarterfinals February 24.
