BELLINGHAM, WA - The UBC Okanagan Heat Women’s Cross Country team travelled to Bellingham, WA on Saturday for the Western Washington University Invitational Cross Country Classic at East Lake Padden Park.
Leading the way for the Heat was front-runner Sandra Kilmartin in 23:46 for 6 km (50th) in a solid effort over the challenging course. Keeping her second-place spot was Michelle Blackburne in 24:36 (70th). Close behind were teammates Alea Stockton in 25:03 (75th) and the tightly-packed trio of Julianna Neudorf in 25:28 (80th), Kendall Seaons in 25:34 (82nd) and Trisha Metro in 25:38 (84th). Also running for the Heat was Emily Millard, who finished the 6K race in 27:14 (94th).
The Heat will head to the BC Athletics Provincial Championships in Abbotsford, BC on October 26th where they will face-off against the province’s best runners, as well as PACWEST’s Thompson Rivers University Wolfpack.
