James Casorso shot a 69 on Day Two of the third tournament of the PACWEST conference schedule to capture his first tournament of the year at the Westwood Plateau golf club in Coquitlam, BC.
James trailed by two strokes after Day One of the event hosted by Douglas College when his 70 was behind Langara’s Jacob Vanderpass. Vanderpass has a tournament low of 68 on Day One and he is still atop the overall PACWEST standings with a cumulative score of 428.
Casorso sits in fourth in the conference 5-strokes back at 433 and powered his tournament win with a 33 on the front nine on Sunday to overtake the lead and then hold on for the win.
This is the second career tournament win for Casorso in his fourth year, and he was a PACWEST Provincial All-Star last season. The management student from Kelowna’s Immaculata Regional High School also had a strong summer of golf winning the Kelowna Club championship.
