The Heat men's volleyball team are on the road for the final time in 2016 when they travel to Regina to face the Cougars this weekend for their fourth Canada West weekend of conference play.

This week for the Heat: This week marks the fourth week of regular season games for the Heat men’s volleyball team and they will continue their conference schedule in Regina with two matches on the road, the last games away from UBC Okanagan in 2016. The two squads will open the weekend on Friday (Nov. 25) with a game that will begin at 6 p.m. PST The second game between the two teams will be played Saturday (Nov. 26) with a start time of 4 p.m. PST. Both the games will take place at CHKS in Regina.
Current Form: After winning on opening night the Heat have yet to find a rhythm this year and have now lost their last five matches. The schedule hasn't been kind to UBC Okanagan as they have played nationally ranked teams the last two weekends and dropping all four subsequent matches, falling to #6 Manitoba, and #8 Mount Royal. UBCO now has a record of (1-5).
Key Players: Senior Lars Bornemann is still continuing to lead the way for the Heat. As a 6’3 hitter, Bornemann now has 74 kills, 23 digs, and nine blocks. With his impressive 74 kills, Bornemann is top-20 in the country in kills in spite of playing fewer games then a number of teams across the country. On defense Eli Risso, the second year as libero and member of the Junior National Team, is tops in the country averaging 3.80 digs per set, and his 76 total digs is third in U Sports.
Team Stat: With their season well underway, the Heat are now averaging 11.8 kills per set and 11.35 assists per set. Their defence led by Risso is fourth in Canada with 11.15 digs per set.
Overall Head to Head vs Regina: Since entering Canada West in 2011 UBCO has won 70% of their matches against the Cougars (7-3). The last time the Cougs' squad claimed a win over the Heat was in October of 2015.

Cougars: On Friday the Heat will play the (0-6) Regina Cougars, who are currently twelfth in Canada West, the Cougars along with MacEwan (0-8) are one of two teams to have yet to win a game this year. With both teams struggling to win, the competition will be high between both teams.
Current Form: The Cougars are coming off of a Friday night (3-2) loss and Saturday night (3-0) loss against the University of Saskatchewan. With a record of (0-6) the Regina squad will be hungry to claim their first win. Last season they were 2-22 with one of their two wins coming against UBCO.
Key Players: Matthew Aubreyez is one of the top performers for the Cougars this year. With 55 kills, the right side hitter is averaging 2.75 kills per set. Following Aubreyez for the Cougars is Brennan Goskiqa with a total of 55 kills so far this season.
Team Stat: The Cougars will have to be prepared to attack when they go head to head with the Heat as they are averaging only 8.35 kills per set and 8.05 assists per set.
