This week for the Heat: The Heat men will play their final games of 2016 away from home, continuing their road trip as they head to the coast this weekend to play UBC before starting their winter break. The sister schools will play two games at the Vancouver campus' War Memorial Gymnasium, at 8 p.m. on Friday night and 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Current Form: The Heat have had a rough start to their season, with a lone win in their eight games so far. A pair of losses to the WolfPack last weekend at TRU dropped the UBCO men's record to (1-7), and they now sit last in Canada West. They will be looking to chance that against UBC before going into winter break.
Key Players: Junior guard Aldrich Berrios is continuing as a force for the Heat. With an impressive 21 made three-point shots out of his 55 attempts, Berrios is fourth in the U Sports standings for that category. As Berrios continues to be a key scorer for the Heat, he also leads the way in assists. With 33 assists so far this season, the third year shooting guard is ninth in U Sports. Following Berrios is senior Mitch Goodwin, who is averaging 13.9 points per game.
Team Stat: With the 2016 part of their season almost finished before winter break, the Heat are now shooting 38.9 percent from the field and 72 percent from the free throw line.
Overall Head to Head vs UBC : (0-6) The Heat have yet to beat the Thunderbirds since the Okanagan campus joined CIS in 2011.

Thunderbirds : On Friday the Heat will play UBC, who currently sit in second place in Canada West with a perfect (6-0) record. The institutional rivalry has been dominated by the elder of the two campuses, as the Heat have yet to take a game from the T-Birds on either the men's or women's side, a statistic that UBCO will be looking to change this weekend.
Current Form: The Thunderbirds are perfect so far this season, and are coming off of back-to-back wins in a home-and-home series against Victoria.
Key Players: Forward Conor Morgan is the leading man for the Thunderbirds this year. With an accurate shot from the field, Morgan has made 52 shots out of his 85 attempts, giving him a 61.2 percentage and placing him sixth in both U Sports categories. Morgan is also making 24.3 shots per game, making him a key component to the T-Birds' scoring strategy. Will Ondrik is also a providing for the T-Birds, averaging 11.2 points per game.
