By Jesse Matthews on January 13, 2013

If you thought Riley McFarland's 26 kill performance Saturday afternoon couldn't be topped, you were wrong; the fifth year outside hitter once again strapped on the cape and put down a career high 30 kills to make like Superman and spur his Heat to a second straight victory.

The University of Regina’s men’s volleyball team won the third and fourth sets after dropping the first two, but UBC Okanagan recovered with a win in the deciding set to take a 3-2 win on Sunday afternoon in a Canada West match at the Centre for Kinesiology, Health & Sport.

No.9 ranked Heat top Cougars in four

No.9 ranked Heat top Cougars in four

By Jesse Matthews on January 12, 2013

The University of Regina’s women’s volleyball team lost in four sets to the UBC Okanagan Heat on Saturday afternoon as both teams returned to the Canada West schedule at the Centre for Kinesiology, Health & Sport.

"Great to get this first win after the break, especially on the road," noted Heat head coach Steve Manuel. "We were a bit rusty but played good scramble type volleyball. Myrte was solid attacking on the left side today, but it was a true team effort."
