Heat women sweep with another 4 set victory
For the second consecutive afternoon, the UBC Okanagan’s women’s volleyball team took a four-set victory over the Regina Cougars on Sunday at the Centre for Kinesiology, Health & Sport.
The Heat opened the match with a 25-16 win in the first only to see the Cougars come roaring back with an equally decisive 25-15 win in the second. Back-to-back set wins gave UBC Okanagan the win, as the Heat won 25-21 in the third and 25-19 in the fourth to clinch the match.

If you thought Riley McFarland's 26 kill performance Saturday afternoon couldn't be topped, you were wrong; the fifth year outside hitter once again strapped on the cape and put down a career high 30 kills to make like Superman and spur his Heat to a second straight victory.
The University of Regina’s men’s volleyball team won the third and fourth sets after dropping the first two, but UBC Okanagan recovered with a win in the deciding set to take a 3-2 win on Sunday afternoon in a Canada West match at the Centre for Kinesiology, Health & Sport.

Outside hitter Riley McFarland (5th year, Surrey, BC) powered the UBC Okanagan Heat to a four-set win, their first in conference play this season, over the Regina Cougars on Saturday afternoon in Canada West men’s volleyball action at the Centre for Kinesiology, Health & Sport.

The University of Regina’s women’s volleyball team lost in four sets to the UBC Okanagan Heat on Saturday afternoon as both teams returned to the Canada West schedule at the Centre for Kinesiology, Health & Sport.
"Great to get this first win after the break, especially on the road," noted Heat head coach Steve Manuel. "We were a bit rusty but played good scramble type volleyball. Myrte was solid attacking on the left side today, but it was a true team effort."
