First-year Human Kinetics student and Heat cross country runner Austin White will be competing in snowboard cross for Canada at the 2017 Universiade in Almaty.

UBC Okanagan Heat student athletes are among the 20,000 from, the Atlantic, Québec, Ontario and Canada West university sport conferences, and 53 Canadian universities join forces for Bell Let's Talk Day, January 25 - and highlight mental health.
Heat women fastest in Canada
For the second time in four years the UBC Okanagan Heat women's cross country team are the best in the country. Led by Veronika Fagan's individual 4th place finish the Heat captured the national championship on Saturday.
