NORTH VANCOUVER, B.C. - The game of soccer is a rain or shine sport for good reason, even though Mother Nature may sometimes prove to be a cold mistress. The Heat women’s soccer team would unfortunately run into said mistress for the second day straight, this time while visiting the Capilano Blues for a Sunday matchup.
After the Capilano Blues’ home turf was deemed unplayable following their Saturday matches with TRU, the venue was promptly changed to Cleveland Park at the base of Grouse Mountain.

Squamish, BC - A frigid, rainy, windy day from Squamish played to the advantage of the home team, as the visiting UBC Okanagan Heat women's soccer team fell to the host Quest Kermodes 3-0 Sunday.
"It was definitely not the result we were looking for," commented Heat head coach Claire Paterson following the game. "Unfortunately some errors on our part let us down but the good thing is that errors are always fixable and we will be working hard this week to get back on track."

Heat soccer visited the coast again this weekend to visit the Langara Falcons in Richmond on Saturday. The women’s team had so far not dropped a match over the first two weekends of the 2013 season, and they looked to extend that streak against the Falcons. However, Langara would ultimately prevail in a tough offensive outing for the Heat to claim the match 2-0 at Hugh Boyd Park.
“We struggled today coming out flat and Langara did well to come after us,” said Heat coach Claire Paterson postgame. “We had a better spell in the second half but it was too little too late.”
