The UBC Okanagan Heat athletics department will find out this week if it has earned full membership status into the Canada West University Athletics Association.
UBCO requires 75 per cent approval from Canada West's 13 member schools who will vote Thursday in Calgary on the Kelowna-based institution's final application.

Jen Woods has had an unbelievable five year career with the UBC Okanagan golf team. Since day one she has been a leader and some think she single handily put UBC Okanagan golf on the map. In her fifth and final year Woods and her teammates finally won a gold medal at the National Championships just a couple of weeks ago. It truly is gratifying for Woods who finished with a silver medal in 2010 and 2009.

After being the bridesmaid in two of the last three years, the UBC Okanagan Heat women’s golf squad earn their first national title Friday at the 2012 PING CCAA Golf National Championship hosted by Durham College at the Oshawa Golf and Curling Club.
The UBC Okanagan team of Jennifer Woods, Jessica Kozak and Alana Kent captured the women’s title with a 1-stroke victory over the Holland College Hurricanes, finishing at 501 for the championship.
