Second straight 3-0 win for the Heat

By Cary Mellon on October 19, 2013

KELOWNA, B.C. – With a playoff berth already sealed, the UBC Okanagan Heat women's soccer team were playing for playoff seeding and momentum in Saturday afternoon's matchup with the Langara Falcons. While Langara kept up with UBC Okanagan in the first half, the second half was all Heat as they put away three goals to take the match 3-0 and exact their revenge on the visiting Falcons.

"I thought the girls played a solid 90 minutes today," reflected Head head coach Claire Paterson, whose team lost to Langara, 2-0 in Richmond earlier in the season. "It was really good to see them come out fired up, trying to gain some momentum going into playoffs next week and get that feeling for goals. We created lots of chances and put three nice goals away today."

After a first half of near misses on offense for both teams the dam opened up for the Heat in the second 45, as they notched all three of their goals in the second.
