McFarland with 26 kills in final match of his career as Bobcats claw the Heat
KELOWNA, BC - Senior outside-hitter Riley McFarland (Surrey, BC) wouldn’t go away quietly as he tried to will his team back into the fourth set but, ultimately, the Heat were unable to catch the visiting Brandon Bobcats in a four set loss (25-16, 22-25, 28-26, 25-20).
"I thought we had opportunities to control that team," commented Heat head coach Greg Poitras following the game. "They [Brandon] came in without their top player, but props to them for dealing with that adversity and playing us tough."
McFarland has 22 kills yet prowling Bobcats take five-set thriller
Kelowna - The UBC Okanagan Heat’s Riley McFarland (fifth-year, Surrey, BC) had a game-high 22 kills on 56 attempts, but he could not carry the Heat to a victory over the Sam Tuivai-less Bobcats as Brandon took a five-set thriller (25-22, 22-25, 25-18, 22-25, 15-13).
