KELOWNA, BC - Our latest BC Rugby First XV Volunteer has spent much of the last four years dedicating his time to the growth of rugby in the Okanagan. UBC-O Heat's rugby coordinator Rob O'Brien has been pivotal to the growth of the game in Kelowna, organizing tournaments, tours and field allocations for the university program as well as for local club side Kelowna Crows.

The third annual Hindson Cup will be take place once again at the Apple Bowl and the Parkinson Recreation Centre in Kelowna hosted by UBC Okanagan. This year’s schedule calls for four teams to play a round-robin and then a cup match all on Saturday, October, 26.
The defending champs, the Calgary Dinos, will return in hopes of hoisting a second straight Cup, the Heat, with whom the Dinos stole last year’s Cup from on an exciting last second score, will hope to avenge the loss. The Alberta Golden Bears and the Simon Fraser Clansmen round out the one-day event.
In the round robin portion of the Cup the games will be played with just 15 minute halves, while the Cup consolation featuring 20 minute halves and the cup final 30 minutes.
First game kick-off is set for 10:50 a.m. at the Parkinson Recreation Centre when the Heat and the Alberta Bears square off.
