Parents, teachers, and most importantly, fellow students, it is my privilege to deliver tonight’s best speech, sorry Mr. Pankratz, to the biggest, brightest and baddest grad class Yale Secondary School has ever seen.
Graduation is a time of transition, we are moving from all too familiar life in high school into the uncertainties of the real world.
We are leaving behind our childhood with memories of friendships, victories and struggles.

Hear others talk about her abilities on the volleyball court, and you know that Emily Oxland defines her skill as a setter right down to the letter.
It’s what she accomplishes in the split second before attack, how instantaneously she processes information, and in the end provides her teammates with the best scoring opportunities, which has served to set her apart from the rest of the pack over three stunning Quadruple A varsity seasons with the Handsworth Royals.

If anyone in B.C. knows just what North Vancouver big man Robert Sacre is going through these days as he works his way through the grueling process of NBA pre-draft workouts, it’s Peter Guarasci.
During the late 1990s, Guarasci served as the partner for many of the Vancouver Grizzlies’ NBA pre-draft prospects who worked out for the team at its former Richmond practice facility.
“I was the pre-draft workout dummy,” the 6-foot-9, 230-pound former European pro and Canadian national team forward laughed over the phone last week. “It was mostly one-on-one in the post, or one-on-one on the perimetre.

If Katy Klomps proved anything over her senior volleyball season, it's that she always leaves a lasting first impression.
This season, after 41 years as Fraser Valley Christian, her school changed its name to Surrey Christian School, and with Klomps helping lead the way, the Falcons won the school's first-ever girls B.C. championship in any sport when it claimed the provincial Double-A volleyball title in December.
