Shirley Bond, Minister of Advanced Education, has appointed two new advisory councils to guide the development of UBC Okanagan and Okanagan College, respectively.
The 27-member UBC Okanagan President’s Advisory Council will advise UBC President Martha Piper on a range of matters including opportunities that are distinct to the region, promoting communication with communities that UBC Okanagan serves, and how the new university can participate effectively in the social, cultural and economic activities of the Southern Interior. It will be led by former Okanagan University College Board Chair, Brad Bennett, and includes representatives from students, regional government, industry, academic organizations, and First Nations.
