Lovett to discuss knowledge acquisition and application
Marsha Lovett, author of How Learning Works: Seven Research-Based Principles for Smart Teaching, will be the keynote for this year's Learning Conference.
Lovett is director of the Eberly Center for Teaching Excellence and Educational Innovation at Carnegie Mellon University. She will open the conference with her talk: How Learning Works: Knowledge Acquisition and Application.
The rest of the conference program will feature 36 presentations from educators across western Canada. Presenters will discuss topics such as social media in the classroom, assessment methods, de-mystifying student learning and undergraduate research ideas.
There is no charge for UBC faculty members who want to attend the conference.
