This year’s UBC Okanagan United Way campaign kicks off on October 6 — and campaign organizers need you.
UBC raises money for people in our community who need a little help. They are neighbours, colleagues, and friends you haven’t met yet.
By creating access to services and support that would otherwise not be available, the United Way leverages our donations to help more than 39 local organizations provide food to the hungry, shelter to the homeless, and support to the unsupported.
In 2013, UBC Okanagan raised $57,000 for United Way to help fund local community initiatives, such as Kelowna Women’s Shelter, the Canadian Mental Health Association, and Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs.
Since 1976, The University of British Columbia has held an annual workplace campaign for the United Way. Each year, university faculty and staff join together to create change—committing dollars and hours to help the Okanagan community thrive.

Let’s create change on our campus, and in our community.
While it doesn’t officially start until Oct. 6, you can show your support for the campaign now by adding the United Way email signature to your email correspondence. (Download the United Way signature here.)
