Bears sighted near UBC Okanagan

By Chris Guenard on May 12, 2017

Campus Security received a report Friday morning of three bears – possibly a mother and cubs -- sighted south of the gymnasium, in the vicinity of the UBC Okanagan campus. The bears were observed leaving the area to the south.

The campus community is encouraged to be bear aware -- exercise caution if you are walking in the woods or along the linear park trails. Also, please ensure that all garbage is properly disposed of.

Bear sightings on campus should be immediately reported to Campus Security, 250-807-8111.

For more information on how to be bear aware, visit: www.rdos.bc.ca/departments/public-works/wildsafe-bc-bear-aware
