Philipp Reichert has been appointed to the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE) Immigration Advisory Committee (IAC). Reichert is manager of International Programs and Services and has been with the university since 2012. He is also an instructor for CBIE's International Students and Immigration Education program (ISIEP).
"We are very happy that Philipp has joined the IAC and brings experience and expertise on topics related to Canadian immigration policy. Philipp has strong ties to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), the Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council, and his colleagues in immigration advising across the country. He is also highly engaged with CBIE as a frequent presenter and instructor for the ISIEP," says Leah Nord, who is the director of board, member and stakeholder relations at CBIE and chair of the IAC.
Established in 1994, the Immigration Advisory Committee identifies critical issues from the institutional perspective, in particular, systemic issues affecting international students, and works with CBIE and with IRCC to attempt to resolve them. The committee serves as the communication liaison with CBIE members on immigration issues and facilitates the development of policies that are more effective, procedures and systems meeting the needs of international students and institutions.
