Just before heading out on the road this fall, the domestic and international recruitment teams have combined offices to share the space in the University Centre building (room UNC222). This move will increase collaboration between Student Recruitment and Advising and the International Student Initiative as they work to bring the best and brightest to UBC.
New faces
The new office welcomes three new team members:
Amanda Victoor will be joining the International Student Initiative (ISI) team as a new international associate recruiter/advisor. Victoor will focus on assisting in the development of on-campus recruitment and advising programs and services for the ISI as well as summer programming for prospective international students, their families and international high school counselors.
Jamie Young joins Student Recruitment and Advising as part of the East Team in support of UBC’s enrollment goals to increase undergraduate students from Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada. At the same time, he will work closely across both campuses with recruiters and other campus partners to support local initiatives in Metro Vancouver and the Okanagan.
Steve Taylor, a marketing communications specialist, joins the Prospective Student Marketing Communications and Social Media (PSMCSM) team, which spans UBC’s two campuses. Based in the Okanagan, Steve will work with colleagues on both campuses to support both the International and Domestic recruitment teams.
Both recruitment teams encourage everyone in the campus community to visit the new space and welcome the new team members.
