About the Collection

UBC Okanagan News is a comprehensive story and content hub fuelled by the University Relations team in collaboration with stakeholders across the Okanagan campus.

Bringing together an array of content — media releases, campus announcements, feature stories, and profiles of our remarkable people — the collection tells the story of the Okanagan campus, from its roots as a purpose-built campus in 2005 to the big thinking and bold path charted in Outlook 2040, the ambitious visioning document that imagines UBCO.

Our people, our stories

At the heart of the collection are the stories of our people — daring students learning from professors, innovative faculty members steeped in community-engaged research, and dedicated staff who contribute to UBC Okanagan’s tight-knit community and entrepreneurial spirit, while honouring our deep commitment and partnership with local Indigenous peoples, the Syilx Okanagan Nation, in whose traditional, ancestral and unceded territory the campus resides.

Gaze…explore…maybe even get lost in the stories of UBC Okanagan, as we provide deeper understanding of today’s issues and offer solutions to help shape a better world.
