Research highlights
The School of Engineering has a new microelectromechanical systems (MEMs) facility to build “lab on a chip” technology and new Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) facility. The Charles Fipke Foundation gave $500,000 to cover the cost of the SEM, and Western Economic Diversification (WED) Canada contributed $1.35 million to support its operational requirements, as well as build the MEMs fabrication facilities. The school is signing up industry partners for joint commercialization projects.
New faculty members
Mohammed S. Agamy, joins the School of Engineering from General Electric Corporate Research and Development in Niskayuna, N.Y. He holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Queen’s University.
Technical staff
The School of Engineering welcomes machinist, Durwin Bossy, and numerous technicians: Michelle Tofteland, Harold Hiscock, Dean MacLellan, Ryan Mandau, Kenneth Mueller, and Tim Giesbrecht.
Support staff
The School of Engineering welcomes our new receptionist, Angela Perry, and assistant to the director, Couleen Maryschuk.
