The topics of euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide are in the forefront of ethical health-care debate in Western society. Yet if these practices were legalized, questions remain about who would ask for them and why.
Dr. Keith Wilson of the Department of Psychology, Ottawa Hospital Rehabilitation Centre, will present a free webinar lecture on the subject at UBC Okanagan, Tuesday, October 21, from 10 to 11 a.m., RHS 129, Reichwald Health Sciences Centre, 1088 Discovery Ave., Kelowna.
Wilson will review the status of the euthanasia debate and summarize findings of the Canadian National Palliative Care Survey, a multi-centre study of cancer patients who received palliative care and who expressed a desire for physician assistance in ending their lives.
