UBC Okanagan has released its 2017 Integrated Rainwater Management Plan (IRMP) – a key implementation action arising from the Campus Plan and Whole Systems Infrastructure Plan.
The IRMP is intended to support UBC Okanagan’s continued management of 100 per cent rainwater that falls on campus. This is achieved through site management techniques, such as bioswales in new development, in balance with existing systems including the pond near the EME building — an engineered rainwater retention facility that supports the campus’ ecology and biodiversity.
A warm thank you to our colleagues and campus community whose input was instrumental to informing the IRMP’s development.
