Student Recruitment and Advising is proud to have hosted another Destination UBC event at the Okanagan campus this past weekend.
Beginning with an extra day of programming for Aboriginal students on Thursday and concluding midday Sunday, the event hosted approximately 300 travellers — bussing, flying or driving in from across BC and Canada — and more than 150 locals for an immersive experience that showcased all that Kelowna and the Okanagan campus has to offer.
There were scavenger hunts, advising sessions, lip-sync battles and bike rides. There were escape rooms, yoga sessions, faculty overviews and trips to downtown Kelowna. Suffice to say, there was lots of activity! Many of our prospective students remarked that they had an amazing weekend and that ‘no one else does this.’
When you meet members of the 2019W cohort in the fall, ask them if they attended Destination UBC. Perhaps they’ll say yes, and more than likely, they might just be joining us as Peer Leaders in our next go-round.
