Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2020 Pick Your Peak Stair Challenge. 98 faculty and staff climbed their way to health, and this year 23 new climbers and four household teams competed.
The challenge is an annual fun and inclusive way to encourage faculty and staff to take more stairs. Stair climbing is a great way to boost cardiovascular health, build muscle and strengthen the core.
At UBC Okanagan, participants completed 210,885 flights of stairs, which is 632,655 metres of elevation, the equivalent of climbing Mount Everest 72 times.

As most participants were not on campus this year, organizers invited households to participate. Team I Can Go the Social Distance, captained by Janine Woods, collected the most household points by climbing 4,551 metres. Congratulations to all the UBC household teams, together they climbed almost to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro.
