Public Invited to Exhibition of Art by Fine Arts Graduates

April 13, 2006

This year’s UBC Okanagan Bachelor of Fine Arts graduates present their work in a public exhibition starting next Thursday, April 20, at UBC Okanagan.

The public is invited to attend Ab initio, an extensive exhibition of student works including paintings, drawings, prints, sculpture, photography, video and installation work.

“This artwork indicates solid, inventive investigation of media and subject matter transformed into a personal direction,” says Visual Arts Professor Ruth MacLaurin. “The exhibition provides an opportunity for the public to view works that encompass a variety of creative approaches and solutions.”

Ab Initio, in the Fine Arts and Health Building at UBC Okanagan, is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., from Thursday, April 20 through Saturday, April 30. Admission is free and open to everyone.
