UBC Okanagan Community and Continuing Studies has expanded programming this term from 13 to more than 50 non-credit adult courses covering a variety of interests and topics.
“We are really proud to have enhanced our adult non-credit course selection with what we believe is an eclectic and exciting array of new program opportunities,” says Tia-Maria Hoeller, Community and Continuing Studies Program Leader. “We would definitely encourage people to explore our winter/spring 2009 offerings and sign up for lifelong learning.”
Designed with busy lifestyles in mind, the Community and Continuing Studies courses take into account the needs of adult learners, providing evening, weekend, and range-of-day courses that span from a few hours to a full term.
“From health and wellness to language, culture and the arts, we have built a curriculum that incorporates a wide variety of interests and passions,” says Hoeller. “Our instructors are enthusiastic about sharing their expertise and have experience engaging and teaching adult learners.”
Exciting programs that are brand-new to Community and Continuing Studies include The Artist in You Series, offering exploratory visual art courses that emphasize creative experimentation, and Managing Your Money courses, covering a wide-range of topics from investing your money to raising money-savvy children. Also, choose from more than 20 titles in the Creative Writing program from one-day workshops to term courses. No experience is necessary – just a desire to explore and create!
