Project GROW is offering a chance to make a charitable donation on behalf of someone this holiday season — purchase mosquito netting or a goat, make contributions for donkey and cart or to a child’s education.
Watch for the Project GROW holiday sales setup at various locations across campus until December 17.
Project GROW is a unique partnership between UBC’s Okanagan campus and the Nanoore Women’s group in the twin villages of Nyobok-Nkenszei in rural Ghana. Born of research conducted by Vida Yakong, a PhD student with the Faculty of Health and Social Development, Project GROW has provided over $20,000 worth of support for families since its inception in 2007. There are no administrative costs for Project GROW — all proceeds go directly to purchasing equipment and supplies.
