The Okanagan Senate is regularly passing important items. To better inform the campus community, highlights of these items will be posted on the Senate website following each scheduled meeting. Highlights from the March 30 meeting include:
- The 2011 Student Senate Elections results were announced:
- students at-large: M. Rafeh Ahmed, Kirk Chavarie, Kaitlyn Levy, Darby Milner, Kristin Vidi, and Calvin Wain
- the Faculty of Applied Science: Morgan Andreychuk
- the Faculty of Arts and Sciences: Jordan Haynes
- the Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies: Yaw Obrenu Yamoah
- the Faculty of Health and Social Development: Cara Bonini
- the Faculty of Management: Christopher Howe
- Two new awards for students totaling $3,000 were approved: the Sentes Auto Group Athletics Varsity Award and the Sentes Auto Group Athletics Varsity Award in Engineering and Management
- Revised admission criteria was approved for the Bachelor of Management program
- Changes were approved to the transfer admission requirements to a doctoral degree
- Curriculum approved:
- New courses and one revised program from the Faculty of Arts and Sciences: GEOG 474, PHYS 231, PHYS 232, PHYS 331, PHYS 332, PHYS 431, PHYS 432 the major in physics program
- New courses from the Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies: ARTH 115, ARTH 324, CULT 490, SPAN 305, SPAN 306
- New courses from the Faculty of Health and Social Development: HINT 527, HMKN 190, HMKN 191, HMKN 315, HMKN 421
- The establishment of The Centre for Culture and Technology in the Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies was communicated at the meeting
