Diana Bang joins the Okanagan Library as Learning Services Librarian (Southern Medical Program) on Sept. 12. She is currently a reference librarian with the Saskatoon Health Region, and graduated with a BSc (Hons) in psychology and biology from York University and a MLIS from the University of Western Ontario.
In her spare time, Bang is a student in UBC’s Master of Educational Technology online program. She is active in associations and keen to merge pedagogy with practical applications in libraries.
The Southern Medical Program Librarian is a new position funded by the Faculty of Medicine. UBC’s Okanagan campus is the newest node of the Distributed Undergraduate Medical Program. Other sites include the University of Victoria, the University of Northern British Columbia and UBC’s Vancouver campus. Diana will work with a network of health librarians across the province to deliver library services to UBC medical students.
