Athletics and Recreation is host venue for Special Olympics fundraiser
June 23 will be a busy day for Athletics and Recreation. That Saturday, Athletics and Recreation is acting as a host venue for Motionball — a significant one-day fundraiser being held in support of Special Olympics Canada.
Motionball pits teams from across the Okanagan in a series of volleyball, benchball, basketball, flag football, Ultimate, and soccer competitions. Each team will have one Special Olympics athlete assigned to play side-by-side the other members of the team.
As host venue, Athletics and Recreation has received one free team entry (valued at $1,000) and is looking for UBC staff and faculty interested in participating.
