November 19, 2012

Writers, performers and visual artists enrolled in graduate studies at UBC’s Okanagan campus are opening their studios to the public on Friday, November 23 from 3 to 6 p.m.

Visitors can tour studios, listen to readings, watch performances and check out video installations while nibbling on snacks and enjoying impromptu live music.

Participating students include Jeannette Angel, Shannon Lester, Julia Prudhomme, Amy Modahl, John McGregor, Lori Mairs, Kristin Burns, Dania Tomlinson, Kelly Shepherd, Cassandre Campeau Bouthillier, Rosa Park and Lorna Tureski.

Writers will give short readings from new and recent works at 3:30 and 5 p.m.

The studios are in a building affectionately know as Platypus House, located on Diversity Way, which is accessed through parking lot E.

For those parking at Platypus House and do not have a UBC parking pass, purchase a parking pass from one of the dispensers in G, M or H lot. ($5 per day or $3 for 3 hours)
