Patty Wellborn new communications assistant

February 4, 2013

Patty Wellborn

Patty Wellborn, assistant communications coordinator

A warm campus community welcome to Patty Wellborn, the new assistant communications coordinator for the University Relations department.

Wellborn relocated to the Okanagan from Chilliwack, where she lived for more than 19 years, working for the Chilliwack Times Newspaper, and the University of the Fraser Valley.

During her years at UFV, Wellborn worked for the Marketing and Community Relations team and her work included editing the print calendar, writing and editing the thrice-weekly electronic internal newsletter, updating department web pages, writing and producing more than 90 program information sheets, and preparing media releases.

Wellborn immigrated to Canada from South Africa as a child and was raised in Ontario. After graduation from Ryerson University she travelled extensively throughout many European countries including Greece, Portugal and Spain. She also spent time in Belize and Guatemala, as well as lived in India for six months.

Wellborn now lives in Oyama with her husband, two children and several cats. The family has embraced the Okanagan lifestyle; in the summer they boat, in the winter they ski.
