The Centre for the Study of Services to Children and Families at the University of British Columbia’s Okanagan campus is part of an initiative to treat substance abuse and mental health disorders in the Aboriginal community.
Partners in the program include the Ki-Low-Na Friendship Society, Westbank First Nation, Métis Community Services Society of BC, Interior Health’s Aboriginal Team and Interior Health’s mental health services, along with UBC’s Aboriginal Programs and Services and the Centre for the Study of Services to Children and Families.
Westbank First Nation is the recipient of a $100,000 training grant by the BC Community Action Initiative for the initiative.
