Alumni Ave. reopens Friday

August 29, 2013

Pedestrian safety improvements are complete, and Alumni Ave. will reopen to traffic and pedestrians this Friday, Aug. 30, at 10 a.m.

Over the past month, this very active roadway between the Administration Building and the Engineering, Management and Education Building has been upgraded with a raised pedestrian crosswalk, improved roadway markings, and will soon have pedestrian-activated crossing lights.

Buses that have been temporarily diverted to Parking Lot E north of the EME Building will return to their normal bus stops on Alumni Ave.

Facilities Management thanks the campus community for its patience during the construction of these improvements.

Future bus terminal: be part of the conversation

Beginning this fall, UBC is updating the Okanagan Campus Master Plan. An important part of this update is to review is how our campus will accommodate greater use of public transit, and where we should locate a future campus bus terminal. Watch for announcements this fall about opportunities to be part of the conversation.
