Health, Safety and Environment and human kinetics students team up for injury prevention
Starting today, human kinetics practicum students are available to conduct ergonomic workstation assessments for faculty and staff.
Assessments will be offered until November 21 and appointments can be scheduled on Mondays from 1 to 4 p.m., Wednesdays from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. or Thursdays from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
When booking an assessment, budget for a 30 to 60 minute window of time. There are a limited number of assessments available, so book early.
This partnership features student participation and learning with practical goals of the university, which enhances not only the student experience but also injury prevention resources for the campus.
The assessments will be performed by fourth-year students Andrea Brand and Andrew Corbet under the supervision of Health and Safety Advisor Jason McLeod and School of Health and Exercise Sciences Practicum Coordinator Rebecca Frechette.
