The Okanagan campus’ fifth annual Active Chess Championship has been organized for next Saturday. Everyone on campus is invited to participate in this all-day event that will feature a regular Swiss time control format and prizes from the UBC Bookstore for the winners.
Players will play five rounds — games run at 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
The cost to enter the tournament is $20. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and is limited to 30 participants.
Players are asked to bring their own sets and clocks.
