Memorial marches and vigils are held in communities across Canada on February 14 every year. These acts of commemoration and calls to action remind people of the importance of community-led resistance to gendered and colonial violence.

Reconciliation as Gender Justice is the subject of an AlterKnowledge Series discussion to be held at the Alternator Gallery, 421 Cawston Ave., Kelowna, on Friday, February 14, at 7 p.m.

This free event is presented by UBC’s Department of Critical Studies. The next public discussion takes place Friday, March 14, on the subject, Schooling the World: The White Man’s Last Burden.
