Woodshed Readings liven summer evenings at Eco Culture Centre

The Woodshed Reading Series at the Woodhaven Eco Culture Centre is a summer literary treat. Taking place on four evenings in July and August, the readings are held in a variety of locations on the Woodhaven property – including the woodshed, outside on decks, and inside cabin studios. These readings are in the trees, near the sound of running creek water, and awash in evening summer breezes.  They are casual and friendly, including tea served after the reading and lots of time to chat with the authors.

Everyone is welcome. The events are free of charge.  For more information, see the Facebook page The Woodshed Readings and contact Kelly Shepherd at kelshep@hotmail.com.  The Woodshed Reading Series is sponsored by UBC’s Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies.

  • Friday, July 11, 7 p.m., featuring readings by poets Aaron Peck of Vancouver and Jason Dewinetz from Vernon.
  • Wednesday, July 30, 7 p.m., featuring novelist and poet Laisha Rosnau from Vernon and guests to be announced.

August

  • Wednesday, August 13,  7 p.m., featuring authors Nancy Holmes, Brianna Ferguson and Natalie Rice, from UBC Okanagan.
  • Wednesday, August 27, 7 p.m., featuring authors Matt Rader, Michael V. Smith, and Kelly Shepherd, from UBC Okanagan, Kelowna.
