Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program available for faculty and staff
The program begins in August and will be led by Janice Snyder, assistant professor of psychology.
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an eight-week group program that focuses on cultivating mindfulness — an intentional, non-judgemental, moment-to-moment awareness of bodies, minds, and emotions.
The program features instruction in mindfulness meditation practice, gentle stretching and mindful yoga, group dialogue, mindful communication exercises and daily home practice. It expands your capacity to deal with stress and anxiety as you learn to consciously respond with kindness and compassion, rather than react to difficulties and challenges.
