Centre for Teaching and Learning starts new term with a full slate of workshops

Learn about Snagit, Teaching Portfolios, Midpoint Feedback and more in September

The Centre for Teaching and Learning is offering a variety of workshops in September for new and returning faculty members.

Teaching Portfolios

This workshop will provide an opportunity to learn more about the purpose and contents of a teaching portfolio. Participants will be given examples.

Date: Monday, Sept. 8
Time: 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Introduction to Snagit

Snagit is a screen capture program that can assist in the creation of quality Word documents and presentations. It allows content that appears on a computer screen to be captured as either an image or video.

This session will provide attendees with an opportunity to explore SnagIt’s features as well as create a simple PowerPoint presentation and video tutorial using content captured from their laptop screen.

Prior to the workshop, make sure to submit a Helpdesk ticket IT, Media and Classroom Services install SnagIt on your computer or download and install a trial version from TechSmith (http://www.techsmith.com/download/snagit)

Midpoint Feedback

In this workshop, participants will examine various midpoint feedback strategies and hear from faculty who currently use midpoint feedback to enhance their teaching and the student learning experience.

The Centre for Teaching and Learning offers a few templates that can be used within Connect to facilitate midpoint feedback and that process will be explained.
