Human Resources welcomes new Organizational Development and Learning manager

October 10, 2014

Laurie Mills, manager of Organizational Development and Learning

Laurie Mills, manager of Organizational Development and Learning

A warm campus community welcome to Laurie Mills, the new manager of Organizational Development and Learning (ODL) at UBC Okanagan.

Mills brings over 20 years of experience in her field, working in a variety of roles.

She has gone from advisor at Canadian Pacific Railway — helping to improve on their management culture change initiatives — to management and leadership instructor at BCIT, to executive coach and consultant.

All of this has led to a wealth of ODL knowledge which Mills now brings to the Okanagan campus.

Her credentials include a Master’s of Adult Education from the University of Toronto’s Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, a Certified Human Resource Professional designation and accreditation as a Personal and Executive Coach through the International Coach Federation.

Mills is starting out at UBC Okanagan by examining how she can best support change and build leadership capacity within the campus community. Continuing the culture of respect among all of the workplaces and people on campus is also a top priority for her.

To connect find out more about any of these upcoming initiatives, you can contact Mills at laurie.mills@ubc.ca or 250 807-9814.
