The Glenmore-Ellison Improvement District (GEID) has notified UBC that water main flushing will be underway this week, with the system serving UBC’s Okanagan campus affected this Thursday and Friday, Oct. 30 and 31.
Additional water main flushing will take place on campus Monday, Nov. 3, which may increase turbidity in the water during this time.
Flushing of water mains normally occurs between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
During any water main flushing, water may appear more coloured or have more sediment than usual. Should water be more coloured or turbid run the tap until the water is clear. Campus residents may also wish to avoid doing laundry during these times.
The Water Quality Advisory issued by GEID remains in effect.
