UBC scholars awarded $500,000 in SSHRC grants

Ten UBC Okanagan students are sharing $500,000 in scholarship grants announced recently by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.

The fellowships and grants are awarded to promising students in master, doctoral and postdoctoral programs.

Among those awarded to UBC Okanagan scholars and students:

Doctoral degree recipients:

  • Alysha Baker, psychology, $105,000
  • Terri Everest, interdisciplinary graduate studies, $105,000
  • Shirley Hutchinson, psychology, $105,000
  • Joanne Taylor, interdisciplinary graduate studies, $80,000

Master’s degree recipients:

  • Kimberley Crosby, psychology, $17,500
  • Lisa Crossley, psychology, $17,500
  • Crystal Evanoff, psychology, $17,500
  • David Kadish, interdisciplinary graduate studies, $17,500
  • Rachel Martens, interdisciplinary graduate studies, $17,500
  • Emily Nilsen, interdisciplinary graduate studies, $17,500
