The Canadian Association of University Business Officers (CAUBO) has awarded UBC’s Thrive: Building Positive Mental Health for All program first-prize in the open category of their annual Quality and Productivity awards.

The award was presented to WRAP Coordinator and Thrive organizer Tracey Hawthorn at their annual conference in June.

Thrive started in 2009 as a week of health-promoting activities. Since then it has evolved into an ongoing support system which focuses on promoting positive mental health, growing from 1,500 participants per year originally to more than 10,000 in 2014. Thrive has also been developed into a program by UBC that can be used at universities and colleges across Canada.

To date, 10 other universities have taken UBC’s lead when it comes to Thriving.
