While it’s almost the end of the academic year, many students have one more undertaking this semester as they participate in the Undergraduate Research Conference at UBC’s Okanagan campus Wednesday.
It’s an opportunity for the students—some in third year, many in fourth—to highlight research they have conducted during the past year.
Nearly 100 students will be on-hand to discuss research projects in subjects across the arts and sciences. Conference attendees will be able to view student poster displays and talk with students about their research. Oral presentations will also take place throughout the day.
A sample of the research being presented includes the chemical composition of medical marijuana, the impact of climate change on predator-prey systems, and occupational differences in wage and income inequality.
