Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Principal Deborah Buszard accepted UBC Okanagan’s Canadian Forces Liaison Council Provincial Award of Excellence in recognition of UBC’s support of reservists, such as Lt. Col. Mike McGinty.
On March 25, UBC Okanagan was among a small group of organizations recognized by the Honourable Judith Guichon, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia, with a Canadian Forces Liaison Council Provincial Award of Excellence for the university’s support of military reservists who are also employees.
Specifically noted in the award is Shelley Kayfish, director of Campus Operations and Risk Management, who was nominated by reservist Lt. Col. Mike McGinty. McGinty is associate director of Risk Management Services and Campus Security as well as commander of the BC Dragoons.
